Not only were the women activists, but they also took part in

social betterment. Education and school reforms, the settlement of houses, planting trees, and building hospitals were some things they took part in.

While men were out at work the women were to take care of the children, and do housework. Technology and the decline in family sizes caused women to become more involved in reform movements.

The 1880s

During the 1880s, more and more women's groups appeared. Due to segregation, middle and upper class women formed their own clubs.

Whats the Purpose?

Whats the purpose of women's suffrage groups? They were formed so women could fight to have  equal rights with men.

Even though women do mush of the same work and other things, men still believe they are more superior.

The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote, after negotiating with Governor Hobby.

Ways of protesting

Most of the suffrage groups in Texas had peaceful protests, or negotiated a deal with a powerful person, while national groups resulted in violence, such as bombing.

Why women should have suffrage...

Women should have suffrage because they are equal with men, do many of the same things, work just as hard or harder, and are beginning to get a good education.

there were many suffrage groups working to help with women's rights. TERA, TESA, WCTU, NAWSA suffrage groups are just some examples.
